B Week Reading Summary 5

Green Lantern/Green Arrow #76

For your reading and response this week I am having you look at  Green Lantern/Green Arrow #76.

You will read Green Lantern/Green Arrow #18 and write (neatly) or type a 2-3 paragraph response. Your response should attempt to answer the questions:

  • What is the twist at the beginning of the story? How does it twist or flip the typical superhero narrative?

  • Tell me how you feel about the way the African-American man’s speech near the end of the issue? Is it warranted? Should Green Lantern feel shame? Why?

Green Lantern, Green Arrow #76

Summaries should be posted to Moodle by Sunday, Oct. 27.

Integrating Definitions

Another look at Integrating Definitions, using McCloud example:

After your introduction and thesis, you need to find and integrate a definition to work from concerning your superhero, supervillain, or anti-hero. Here is an example of a work up of the definitions of comics from Scott McCloud.

For you, need to work on finding your own definition and create your own integrated paragraph to post on Moodle by Monday, Oct. 21.
