For our group work today I want you to read an exert, copy provided digitally below, and focus on applying the parts you will need to do when examining your own comic books for your analysis essay: Summary and Analysis Parts
You are tasked with summarizing the entire reading. You should be able to tell us the main points of the reading, and I want you to provide us with TWO relevant quotations that you feel help illustrate the main points of the exert.
ANALYSIS PART 1 – PURPOSE
You are tasked with aiming to uncover what you feel is the author’s reasons and purpose for writing (and in this case also illustrating) this exert. Why did the author write (draw) this? What is the aim? I want you to provide us with ONE relevant quotation that you feel helps illustrate that purpose.
ANALYSIS PART 2 – Audience
Your task is to recount who you feel the author’s primary audience might be as well as who would feel an interest or desire to understand what it is that the author is offering to them. I want you to provide us with ONE relevant quotation that you feel helps illustrate or highlight that potential audience.
ANALYSIS PART 3 – The Message
In a sense your task ties the summary and the other analysis parts together by attempting to uncover exactly what it is that the author wishes to communicate to his audience. You should gather at least ONE relevant quotation that you feel is critical in communicating or bringing to light that message the author wishes to convey.
Apply what you have done here, using the guidance for ALL FOUR groups and apply it to constructing the SUMMARY (3 paragraphs) and ANALYSIS (3 paragraphs) in your own ESSAY 2
