Introducing the Evaluation

First, let’s remind ourselves of what an Evaluation is supposed to do in relation to our paper as a whole:

Now, let’s take a look at an example at work.

So, let’s look at how this plays out in your papers.

Consider taking that aspect of your thesis, the tail end (what I have above in green), and attempting to turn it into your criteria.

1. I started by turning the last section into a question:

Does reading Action Comics #1 better help us understand Superman’s roots as a warrior for social justice?

2. Answer the question:

Yes, he was.

3. Now explain and support my answer:

This is where the rest of my evaluation/judgment comes from as I give evidence to support my assertion with evidence, reflecting, on the text.
