2) Reading and Response Assignment 2: Action Comics #1

For your reading and response this week I am having you look at Action Comics #1 published in 1938.

This assignment has TWO parts.

Part 1: Looking only at the cover, I want you to write your knee jerk reaction and impression of what you see. You will write this down on an index card with your name on it and turn it into your instructor when you have finished writing.

Part 2: You will read Action Comics #1 and write (neatly) or type a 2-3 paragraph response. Your response should attempt to answer the questions: 

  • What did you know or think about Superman before reading this comic book?

  • What about reading this comic book has altered or changed or shown you a new light about Superman?

Assignment is DUE Thursday, June 21 by 5:00 PM via email or Moodle. It can also be turned in in-class.
