Making an Appointment at the Writing Center

As part of our writing process now I want you, between your Peer Review (Mon. or Tues) to revise and then seek edition feedback via our University Writing Center located in GTK in room 228.

You will need to accomplish this between our class peer review and when the rough draft is due to me on Friday (end of the week). So, between Mon./Tues. and Friday.

Basic information about the writing center, including the link we will take a look at that you will use to register and make your appointment can be found here.

What I want to do now is have you see how to set up an account and make an appointment for the writing center.

Let’s start by going to the online link found here.

This is the page you should find yourself on once you’ve opened the link.

You’ll want to locate the log in box on the left and click on the “Register for an account” at the top in blue. This will bring up a registration box you will need to fill out (what is on the right in image above).

When you are done, hit register and you should see yourself back at the login screen (see below).

Now, you will want to log in using the information you registered and it should take you to a calendar of dates of the week and names of Writing Center Tutors (see below).

Look for a “white” open 30 min. time slot that works for you to go to the writing center (ideally) or get online help (if you cannot go in person) and select that white square and the following (see below) will appear in a separate box:

You will need to fill out information about the assignment itself (they will have some information on their end to help you), what you need or want help with, and other information. Most of that information can be found in our original assignment sheet for Essay 2, located here.
